Our next annual neighborhood rummage is set for Sat., July 18. Sellers will open at 8AM, with some selling on Friday and Sunday as well. There is no cost to participate, and anyone in the neighborhood association area (Halteman, Norwood, Norwood-Hal, Brewington Woods) can participate. Residents who plan to participate and would like to have their address included on the published event map must sign up using the link below by July 13.

Crowdfunding Campaign
We did it!
Thanks to the generosity of so many supporters, we are pleased to announce that we successfully reached our crowdfunding campaign goal! In fact, thanks to everyone who contributed we not only met, but exceeded our campaign goal! This qualified HVNA for the matching grant funds from Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority and AARP of Indiana. That means we have raised $76,276 to invest in improvements at Halteman Park!
$36,276 + $35,000 + $5,000 = $76,276
The purpose of this grant program is to assist Indiana communities in funding place-based projects for aging in place. We will be using the funds to implement such park amenities as permanent seating, shade structures around the pickleball courts and splash pad, bike racks, and a toddler play area, among other things. These additions will create a multi-generational park for residents of all ages. Be sure to join our monthly meetings and follow our website for more project updates.

Community Foundation of Muncie-Delaware County Announces
2023 David Sursa Leadership Award Winner
Sara Shade, Community Foundation of Muncie-Delaware County, presented the 2023 David Sursa Leadership Award to Halteman Village Neighborhood Assoc. president, J.P. Hall, who was nominated for the award by the HVNA board. In addition to the award for Hall, the neighborhood association received $2500, which was applied to our park crowdfunding campaign .

HVNA meetings are held at 7 pm on the last Tuesday every month at Remedy City Church, 4100 N. Oakwood Avenue. During the summer, we meet under the pavilion at the park.
